Loooooooong Weekend
I finally had the opportunity to sit down and use a friend's laptop to blog. Yes, I am so poor that I am not yet able to acquire my own laptop. I plan on getting one soon, cause I badly need one to be fair. So, hello and let me start on my tirade about my first week of work.
I started last Monday at Deutsche Knowledge Services as a Financial Analyst. I am assigned in the Branch Reporting cluster of the Financial Reporting under Team Hong Kong. Basically, what I do is make financial statements under the Hong Kong branch of Deutsche Bank. I make financial statements of the subsidiary of the DBHK. As of the moment, I don't have much yet to do. The people in the office are still busy because it's still month end and so there's no one yet who has all the time and do some Knowledge Transfer(KT) to me. I've only had one proper KT for the week and it has been confusing. I hope in time I'll be able to understand everything and memorize it by heart. Tough times learning everything from scratch. Difficult too learning it because I'm not applying it right away. So far, I could say my team's fun and everyone's nice. The work might sound hard but the people sounds lovely so I'm looking forward to the next few days of work.
Yesterday, I was sent home after lunch because there's a monsoon in the country. The office wants to make sure everyone's safe so they asked everyone to go home if there's nothing to do. So, I went home early and had a half day. Today, we were contacted by the office and ask if it is possible for us to go. It was tough to go out then because the rain was so heavy so I told my supervisor that I think it's safer for me to stay home. Tomorrow, it'll be a holiday so another day off of work. Which means I may have technically have like five day weekend! Fun times! However, I need to catch up on my studying and just try to reenergize myself as I keep on losing sleep last week as my boyfriend points out quite bluntly.
