Manila Vanilla!
Last Thursday was the day that I have officially declared myself to be independent. I have flew in Manila with friends for a job. I have been overwhelmed with so many emotions as I approach closer to the airport. Scared, anxious, excited... and so much more. But here I am, sitting on our room's flat, typing away my first few days of independence here in Manila.
As soon as we arrived at MLA, we are already scammed by the taxi driver. What a lovely city. Also, the signal here is horrible. Only one network has a proper signal, and so unfortunate that being the capital, it is expected that everything is working better than my city. Traffic is also horrendous here. Even at three in the afternoon, the cars are already bumper to bumper in one of the major highways of the city. The transition of the language is pretty difficult as well as I am not used to speaking Filipino or Tagalog in normal conversations. Now, I am stuck to that for the next few months. Quite hard to find a place where to buy food in our area as of the moment. We don't have much appliances yet so it's hard to actually get something cooking and prepare food but probably by the time we start working, everything will hopefully go on smoothly. There's also quite a lack of privacy, which I enjoyed highly at home, now, as I share a room with friends. It is still something I am quite not used to!
Although, it's fun to see my friends again. Also spending time with them have been so much fun, catching up and just hanging out. It's always been a lovely time to be with my friends and to spend next few months with them will definitely be a blast. Probably the best thing about moving here is being with them. It's great because it helps you miss less home because you are already comfortable with the people plus it feels like it is likely the same when you were in class. The moving is also less painful because everyone treats each other like a family.
I really don't have much yet to say as far the living here is concerned. Been here for two days yet but those have been my experiences as of the moment. Maybe by the time I start working I will have an entirely different viewpoint from today.
Right now though, I wish I was still Cebu. I miss all the comfort I enjoyed at home. I miss my room and my bed. I miss being pampered by my parents, not worrying what next to eat. And most especially, I miss just having my own personal space. It's the one thing that I am craving for a lot!

At Mactan International Airport. Waiting for our boarding, which was delayed by almost an hour.
Just safely landed at MLA. Hello me and my awkward smile and pose!
